Hi-tech dwellings for Salford elderly

Salford City Council’s ‘Shelmerdine Gardens’ sheltered accommodation project was designed from the start to incorporate the very latest advances in comfort and safety for the benefit of its elderly residents.

It comprises of 50 new dwellings, a communal hall and an ‘all singing, all dancing’ function suite, complete with sophisticated sound system and stage lighting – the perfect venue for ‘young-at-heart’ performers.

Involved ‘from the ground up’, Aspull was responsible for providing every single aspect of electrical installation, from mains distribution and containment to all lighting and power to each individual apartment. Aspull also took care of the under-floor heating, fire alarms, emergency lighting, telephone and IT infrastructure, plus all the security measures, including CCTV system, alarms, access control and intercom.
