From cotton mill to trendy urban ‘hub’

It’s always a challenge to upgrade older premises with advanced modern electrics without spoiling the building’s original character.

But when Aspull was commissioned to install the power, lighting, emergency lighting and fire alarm system for the Royal Mills project in Ancoats, just north of Manchester City centre, that’s exactly what was required

The building, now of grade 11 listed status, was formerly a thriving cotton mill. Today it is a vibrant, modern urban complex, featuring residential, retail leisure and commercial accommodation units, each served by Aspull’s main distribution system.
