New Cardiac Catheter Discharge Lounge

The works comprise of the expansion of the existing Cardiac Catheter Laboratory to create a new Discharge Lounge at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan.

Due to the close proximity of the live Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and their patients our engineers worked closely with the medical staff and Trust estates team to ensure our works had no impact on the day to day running of the ward and eliminate disruption.

The facility provides a new consultation room to ensure privacy between medical staff, patients and their families prior to being discharge home.

The facility also offers a bespoke discharge area providing a quiet and relaxed environment complimented by TV, surround sound music system and comfortable furniture.

The extension has been paid for via Heart Beat Fund donations from people living in the Wigan borough.
